Disscuss This!

So if Benjamin thinks that with the advent of film and photography the aura of art is lost does he think that acting in a film or using a certain composition in a photograph does not count as art?

Also, if we are all products of our environment then the move towards mechanical reproduction in art is reflected by the technological advances in society.  The rediscovering of the meaning of aura should relate to people on a personal level more than what I felt from this article.  Is Benjamin trying to make art politics?

Triptych:Watch Me

This is my Triptych montage project, I chose the phrase "Watch Me".  It is about the pressure by our peers and people we see in the public eye in politics and advertisements.  In some of the montages the figures are in conflict with each other by their position or color and in others they are disfigured to express inner turmoil of consuming but never being ultimately satisfied with themselves.  I chose the phrase "Watch Me" to also express the obsession of people in the public eye.
